Bentley Supersports Debuts in Dubai

Bentley Motors unveiled the Supersports to 400 VIP guests in Dubai last week, with the Burj Al Arab illuminated in signature green. Rally champion Travis Pastrana arrived driving the modified film car, whilst nearly 100 customers joined brand ambassador Lucien Laviscount and leadership including Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser and Christophe Georges to witness a 666 PS rear-wheel drive grand tourer redefining luxury performance

The gardens of Sheikha Sanaa Bint Mana Al Maktoum’s former royal palace provided an appropriately refined setting for the Supersports’ debut across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The evening brought together global brand ambassador Lucien Laviscount, motorsport legend Travis Pastrana, and the marque’s leadership including chairman and CEO Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser alongside Board Member for Sales & Marketing Christophe Georges.

As guests arrived, the launch car commanded attention in its ‘Daybreak’ specification, with Jetstream Matte enhanced by Arctica and Portofino livery accents. At precisely 21:00 local time, the premiere of Supersports: FULL SEND unfolded simultaneously across global channels, whilst attendees experienced the film on a 12-metre screen beneath the Arabian night sky.

The arrival that followed created a memorable moment. Pastrana guided the modified Supersports from the film directly into the venue, the crowd’s response affirming what 666 PS and rear-wheel drive architecture represent: a bold reimagining of the luxury performance grand tourer.

The Pymkhana Film

Supersports: FULL SEND gave a distinctive perspective on automotive filmmaking. Produced entirely at the Crewe manufacturing campus last September, the project united a modified Supersports with one of motorsport’s most skilled precision drivers to stunning effect.

Pastrana navigated the factory grounds in a gymkhana-inspired demonstration, termed ‘Pymkhana’ after the site’s Pyms Lane address, where the company has refined its craft since 1938. The film allows the engineering to speak through action, showcasing 666 PS and rear-wheel drive dynamics across the very grounds where Bentley’s current portfolio takes form.

The production revealed how rear-wheel drive fundamentally alters the driving experience. Where previous flagship models delivered capability through all-wheel traction, the Supersports pursues a more engaging philosophy: connection between driver and machine through refined mechanical balance. Pastrana’s mastery through the campus’s technical sections demonstrates the sophisticated interplay between advanced aerodynamics and chassis engineering.

Power and Precision

The 666 PS output represents considerable performance within the luxury grand touring segment. However, the engineering achievement extends well beyond raw power, as the development team crafted a comprehensive chassis solution ensuring composure and control when channelling that output exclusively through the rear axle.

Aerodynamic development proved crucial to this endeavour. The design team has created sculpted surfaces that generate substantial downforce whilst preserving the refined aesthetic language synonymous with Crewe. Achieving stability at velocity without compromising visual harmony required meticulous attention to form and function in equal measure.

This approach establishes fresh territory for the manufacturer. Previous performance flagships offered formidable capability wrapped in all-wheel-drive confidence. The Supersports chooses a different path, one that rewards driver skill and involvement, appealing to those who appreciate the purity of rear-wheel drive dynamics executed with perfect precision.

Handcrafted in Crewe

Filming at Crewe offered insight into the facility itself, which continues to benefit from substantial ongoing investment. The manufacturing campus where W.O. Bentley’s original vision materialised now integrates contemporary production technology whilst maintaining unwavering dedication to hand-built quality.

Over 4,000 skilled colleagues design, engineer and assemble each model within the current range: Continental GT, Continental GT Convertible, Flying Spur, Bentayga and Bentayga EWB. The expertise required for this work passes between generations of craftspeople, creating institutional knowledge that defines the marque’s approach to automotive manufacture. This human element—the careful attention to detail, the perfection of joins and seams—cannot be replicated through automation.

An Evolving Vision

The Dubai gathering represented a manifestation of the brand’s contemporary direction, as leadership emphasised the significance of the occasion.

“The event in Dubai was not only a celebration of Supersports, but a reflection of our new brand strategy in action. We combined authenticity, new ambassadors, our extraordinary customers and unexpected product stories into one remarkable evening. Our attention now turns to working with each Supersports customer to take them on their own extraordinary journey, through an incredible world of specification possibilities.”

Christophe Georges, Board Member for Sales & Marketing, Bentley Motors

Every Supersports commission will be developed through consultation with the company’s specialists, exploring an extensive palette of materials, finishes and details. This personalisation process remains fundamental to ownership, enabling the creation of truly individual motor cars rather than selections from fixed configurations. The possibilities span exotic leather hides, rare wood veneers, custom paint formulations and myriad other refinements.

Availability and Delivery

The order books open in March, with production commencing in Q4 2026 ahead of initial customer deliveries at the start of 2027. Availability spans UK, Europe (EU27 plus Switzerland and Turkey), USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Japan, Oman, Bahrain, UAE, Qatar and Kuwait.

This carefully considered geographical footprint reflects markets where appreciation for high-performance luxury grand tourers remains most pronounced. The decision to maintain controlled availability honours both manufacturing capacity and the desire to preserve exclusivity for the nearly 100 discerning customers who attended the Dubai premiere.

The Supersports arrives as the company advances its Beyond100+ strategy, charting a course toward exclusively electric production by 2035.
